Man sentenced to 10-year prison term for murdering his sister

AMMAN - The Criminal Court on Monday sentenced a 25-year-old Jordan Valley resident to 10 years in prison for murdering his unmarried sister in July 2009.
The court first handed the defendant, a company employee, the death penalty for the premeditated murder of his 26-year-old pregnant sister on July 9.
But the tribunal immediately decided to reduce the sentence to 10 years in prison because the victim’s father dropped charges against his son.
The court also acquitted a 37-year-old taxi driver, H.M., who was standing trial on charges of raping the victim, for lack of evidence. Leggi tutto...
